The Baltimore Ravens have won 19 consecutive exhibition games, which is a ‘notable’ record.

No one will be able to persuade John Harbaugh that the Baltimore Ravens’ unprecedented run is meaningless since it came within a non-significant period of the NFL calendar.
The Ravens won their 19th straight preseason game with a 20-3 thrashing of the Carolina Panthers, which unofficially ties an NFL record.
From 1959 through 1962, the Packers under Vince Lombardi won 19 consecutive exhibition games, ending just weeks before Ravens coach John Harbaugh was born.
“All those guys who were a part of it over those years should be proud tonight,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “It’s something only one other club has ever done — the Vince Lombardi Green Bay Packers.”
“I’d say that’s remarkable,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. The Ravens went old-school to join Lombardi and the Packers in summer dominance.
On Saturday night, the Ravens, who were tied at halftime with the Panthers, ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns in the second half at Bank of America Stadium.
After halftime, Baltimore limited the Panthers to 18 total yards.
Since September, the Ravens have not lost a preseason game.
Baltimore’s preseason winning streak began against the Panthers in 2016.
“There are going to be folks who say this doesn’t matter,” Harbaugh said.
“There will be people who look at that and go, ‘Wow, that’s something.’ I believe that everything has purpose in life.” The Ravens’ preseason streak is the longest in at least 26 years, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Elias’ preseason records don’t go back any further than 1995.
But, according to long-time NFL reporter Rick Gosselin, the Packers won 19 straight exhibition games 59 years ago.
The Ravens were unable to replicate that record since their star players are frequently used in the preseason.
Despite missing seven starters, including Pro Bowl quarterback Lamar Jackson, tight end Mark Andrews, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey, Baltimore defeated Carolina on Saturday.
Tyler Huntley, who began at quarterback in place of Jackson, stated, “It’s a fantastic feeling to have because you can see the type of culture we have as a team and company.”
“Every time we foot on the pitch, we want to win.”
It really goes to show how much depth we have as a team to keep winning in the preseason.” Some players were aware of the run going into the game.
In the locker room after the win, Harbaugh briefed his players about the historic preseason triumph.
Ravens safety Chuck Clark recalled, “We embraced and loved that moment.”
“But for now, we’re kind of in the record books,” he says, “but we just have to keep becoming more and better as a team.”

Rashod Bateman, a Ravens rookie, will miss ‘weeks’ due to a groin injury.

Rashod Bateman, the Baltimore Ravens’ rookie wide receiver, will be out for a few weeks.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced on Wednesday morning that first-round rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman will be out for a few weeks due to a groin injury suffered in practice on Tuesday.
The No. 1 was used by Baltimore.
The former Minnesota Golden Gophers great wide receiver was selected as the 27th overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2021.
Given that Baltimore’s passing offense is one of the worst in the league, not having a true talent like Bateman available for what appears to be the majority of the preseason is a massive concern.
In 2021, the Ravens expected him to be a key contributor.
For a few weeks, the Ravens will have to adjust to life without Bateman in the receiving corps.
Rashod Bateman, the Ravens’ first-round pick, will miss “a number of weeks” due to a groin injury suffered during practice on Tuesday, according to head coach John Harbaugh.

After finally winning a playoff game last year, franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson needs to lead his team to the AFC Championship game this year.
Otherwise, the 2021 NFL season will be remembered as a huge letdown for the Ravens Flock.
They must reach the final four.
While Bateman will not change the world as a wide receiver for the Ravens, his addition to the roster will undoubtedly aid Jackson’s development as a passer in his fourth season in the league after graduating from Louisville.
Baltimore’s pursuit for a third Lombardi Trophy will benefit from a more balanced offensive.
For the time being, Bateman may not be seen in a Ravens uniform until the regular season begins.
Although Baltimore has time to react, this is not the type of injury news that will please supporters.

Lamar Jackson is out of practice with the Ravens due to a COVID issue.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was held out of practice.
Due to a COVID-related issue, Lamar Jackson will not practice with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.
On Thanksgiving, the Ravens’ franchise quarterback tested positive for the coronavirus, which hampered Baltimore’s game against the Jets.
On a later day, on a Wednesday afternoon, the archrival Pittsburgh Steelers will be played.
Jackson will undoubtedly be held out of Ravens practice as the NFL and Baltimore assess the situation.
Tyler Huntley and Trace McSorley will get extra reps as a result of this.
We don’t know how long the former NFL MVP quarterback will be out at this time.
According to @jamisonhensley and me, Lamar Jackson is not practicing today due to a COVID-related situation that the league is still working through.
Jackson, who tested positive on Thanksgiving, had a second test that was flagged by NFL officials.
The NFL is now conducting research, and the Ravens are waiting for results.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 28, 2021 Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is out for the season due to a COVID-19 issue. This is a pivotal season for the Ravens and their franchise quarterback.
Together with the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens should be contenders for the division title.
While the Pittsburgh Steelers are likely to be a wild card club this season, they should be competitive.
With this being Joe Burrows’ second season, we can also expect a significant improvement from the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jackson is in his fourth year as a Louisville Cardinal.
He’ll make money on a second contract, but it’s unclear if he’ll be paid before Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills or how much more than his Heisman Trophy fraternity brother Baker Mayfield.
In any case, Jackson is not practicing with the Ravens at the moment, and the team must react appropriately.
Expect more renowned players to be sidelined by the illness now that training camp has begun.

BALTIMORE, MD – NOVEMBER 01: Vince Williams #98 of the Pittsburgh Steelers reacts after the Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on November 1, 2020.
(Getty Images/Benjamin Solomon) After eight seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, linebacker Vince Williams has announced his retirement from the league.
Because of their elite front seven and ball-hawking safeties in the secondary, the Pittsburgh Steelers defense is one of the best in the NFL.
They count on everyone to be in the right place at the right time and to accomplish their jobs to the best of their abilities.
Regrettably, the unit recently lost a key member of the squad on Wednesday.
Vince Williams, a long-time Steeler linebacker, announced his retirement from the NFL after spending his whole career with the team.
Vince Williams, a linebacker with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has announced his retirement after eight seasons with the team. Williams was picked by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 2013 draft out of Florida State.
He spent his whole eight-year career with the Steelers, where he established himself as a reliable rotational backer, even starting some games.
On Wednesday, the 31-year-old notified the organization that he is hanging up his cleats and leaving the NFL.
“Vince Williams informed us today that he is retiring from football.”
We appreciate his decision and want to thank him for his time with us since, in addition to his efforts on the field, he continually demonstrated excellent character and leadership.
According to Steelers.com, General Manager and Vice President Kevin Colbert expressed his warmest wishes to Vince and his family.
Williams made 444 tackles, 48 tackles for loss, 43 quarterback hits, 20.5 sacks, five passes defended, five fumble recoveries, and two interceptions in 144 games (69 starts).
His 14 tackles for loss ranks ninth in the NFL in 2020.
Only ten players in Williams’ draft class played in more games than him in his career, according to Steelers.com.
In 2013, all ten were chosen ahead of the 206th overall pick.
