After being exposed to Covid-19, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis will miss the last preseason game for the Buffalo Bills.

Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis will miss the last preseason game for the Buffalo Bills after testing positive for Covid-19. Cole Beasley has been outspoken in his opposition to the coronavirus vaccine. Buffalo Bills wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis will miss the final preseason game for the team after being deemed close contracts of a training staff member who has tested positive for Covid-19.
After being revealed, veteran defensive tackle Star Lotulelei was also sent home.
According to reports, all three players have tested negative, but they must go through the league’s’re-entry process’ for the next five days because they have not been vaccinated.
Vaccinated players who have been exposed can practice as long as they have negative tests, but the Buffalo trio will miss the week of practice and the team’s last preseason game on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers.
According to ESPN, the trainer, who has not been identified, was completely vaccinated.
Beasley has been outspoken in his opposition to vaccination, even producing an anti-vaccine rap song recently.
On Sunday, September 12th, the Bills will host the Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off their 2021/22 season.
Cam Newton was recently required to go through the NFL’s five-day re-entry process for unvaccinated players. Due to a mix-up with the NFL’s new Covid-19 requirements, Newton will not be able to train with the club until Thursday.
Newton, backed by the Patriots, left the New England area on Saturday for a medical appointment and continued to test negative for Covid-19 on a regular basis.
“Because to a misunderstanding about testing taken outside of NFL facilities, and as mandated by the NFL-NFLPA standards, Cam will be subjected to the five-day entrance cadence procedure before returning to the facility,” the Patriots said in a statement.
“Cam will continue to participate virtually in team activities until Thursday, August 26 when he returns to the club.”

The Buffalo Bills, according to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, require a new stadium.

The Bills’ current contract at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York, expires in 2023, and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has urged the team to build a new stadium supported by a public-private partnership, saying, “You’ve got to think long-term.”
Buffalo’s ownership, led by Terry and Kim Pegula, has filed a $1.4 billion plan for a new stadium.
Commissioner Roger Goodell has urged the Bills to build a new stadium. The Bills, who have played in Orchard Park since 1973, have been putting pressure on local governments to assist them in the construction of the stadium.
“This has been going on for decades, and it’s time to get a new stadium built so the Bills can be here and successful for many, many decades to come,” Goodell said.
“You can’t really do planning and designs on things until you have a deal,” Pegula Sports and Entertainment spokesperson Jim Wilkinson told WIVB-TV. “Right now, the city of Buffalo and the state (of New York) are going to have to decide if they want a team.”

On the Bills, Josh Allen’s contract, a pass-happy attitude, and ten takeaways

NEW YORK’S ORCHARD PARK
— Before head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane arrived in Buffalo, the Bills had gone 17 seasons without entering the NFL playoffs. In McDermott and Beane’s four years in charge, the Bills have made the playoffs three times.
The Bills finished 13-3 last season and proceeded to the AFC Championship game before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs. There’s reason to believe the team is now well-positioned for long-term success.
Beane has the most MTMS (Moves That Make Sense) in the NFL.
McDermott has demonstrated a willingness to change with his team.
The Bills’ foundation appears to be stable, despite the fact that things in the NFL may change quickly.
During a visit to the Bills’ training camp and meetings with McDermott and Beane earlier this month, the franchise signed Allen to a new $258 million contract that will keep him under contract until 2028.
Check out our 2021 Playbook 1 deep dive for more information.
When it comes to rebuilding, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution.
But, the Bills’ plan when Beane and McDermott took over may be used as a model in the modern NFL: identify core players, move on from others, and establish a healthy cap situation. Take a chance on a rookie quarterback. Put that quarterback in a position to succeed by putting together a solid supporting cast.”It was protect him, number one,” Beane told The Athletic.
“Then there’s weapons.”

Former backup quarterback Jake Fromm leads the Buffalo Bills to a game-winning drive in his NFL debut.

DETROIT — Buffalo Bills quarterback Jake Fromm took a snap with an opponent team on the other side of the line of scrimmage for the first time in his brief NFL career.
In Buffalo’s 16-15 triumph over the Detroit Lions on Friday, the 2020 fifth-round pick led a 74-yard touchdown drive that finished with Tyler Bass’ game-winning field goal.
During that last drive, Fromm completed 8-of-13 passes for 65 yards, including a 42-yard completion to rookie Marquez Stevenson on 4th-and-10.
With the game on the line, the Georgia product didn’t shrink after spending his rookie season as the Bills’ backup quarterback.
“He’s been there before,” Bills coach Sean McDermott said, referring to Fromm’s time at Georgia.
“And he simply doesn’t seem fazed in these scenarios,” he said. Buffalo drafted him 167th overall in 2020, and he spent training camp doing regular quarterback duties before making the final 53-man roster behind Josh Allen and Matt Barkley.
From then, his daily routine was anything but ordinary; the Bills designated Fromm as their emergency quarterback, which meant he practiced separately from the rest of the team and stayed socially isolated from his colleagues at their Orchard Park facility.
“That was certainly a fascinating five to six months for me.”
“I’ve never experienced anything like that,” Fromm explained.
“It was unquestionably difficult and lonely at times, but I kept returning to my faith and my family.”
And knowing I’d be seeing them soon and that, perhaps, it’d all be worth it one day
“I wanted to be prepared, so I came to work every day and said, ‘Hey, let’s go, be prepared.'”
“This is where I’m at, this is where my feet are at, let’s go give it 100% and give it my all,” Fromm said, crediting the Bills’ practices at Highmark Stadium for helping him acclimatize to the NFL’s speed of play.
His little involvement left an impression on his teammates, particularly quarterback Davis Webb, who praised Fromm’s ability to shake off a pair of sacks earlier in the game and rebound when it meant the most.
“It was exciting to see Jake get in there and send that deep ball to Speedy, especially because it was both of their first games in the NFL,” Webb said.
“A couple of plays aren’t always going to go your way.”
I wouldn’t put that on Jake for the first couple of drives; there are a lot of factors to consider.
But I’ll put Jake on because he came through for us.” The Bills play the Bears in their second preseason game next week in Chicago.

Lombardi: How can teams beat the Chiefs and Buccaneers this season?

The one benefit of not having any NFL games to watch right now is that it compels you to re-watch games from last season, especially the postseason games.
Such contests serve as the cornerstone of any offseason strategy.
Teams that didn’t make the playoffs should study last year’s final four teams — the Buccaneers, Chiefs, Bills, and Packers — to learn about their strengths and flaws, as well as what it will take to raise their club to the same level this season.
