Jason Lloyd likes five things and doesn’t like five things about the Cleveland Browns – The Athletic

With the first kickoff that matters still three weeks away, here are five things I like about the Browns and five things that worry me…1
This is the most talented bunch of Browns running backs I’ve ever seen, dating back to the Earnest Byner/Kevin Mack era of the 1980s.
Of course, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are excellent, but DErnest Johnson is a key third back, and rookie sixth-round pick Demetric Felton is developing into a versatile weapon.
The focus will be on Chubb and Hunt, but this is perhaps the strongest group of running backs in the NFL.
Because of Feltons versatility as a fourth back/seventh receiver/return specialist, the Browns should be able to carry all four on the last 53.2
The offensive line is 1A if running back is the deepest position.
The Browns have at least a dozen offensive lineman capable of making an NFL roster.
The Browns will most likely carry nine players, according to my partner Zac Jackson: the five starters, Chris Hubbard, Michael Dunn, James Hudson III, and Nick Harris.
Dunn isn’t a lock at this stage, but following his great end last season, he appears to be one of the favorites.
He’s had a sore back all week, but it’s nothing serious.

Preview, team news, and predictions for the New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns game on August 22nd, 2021.

The New York Giants have endured a grueling training camp, which has already resulted in two brawls.
One was against their own offense and defense, which left starting quarterback Daniel Jones at the bottom of the standings.
Joe Judge, the head coach of the New York Giants, made the entire team run as if they were in training to be Navy SEALs.
The second incident occurred on Friday, when New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard and Cleveland Browns cornerback Troy Hill threw punches at each other during a joint practice ahead of their preseason matchup in Week 2.
New York may struggle in their upcoming game based on joint practices.
Cleveland produced a scoring drive during 11-on-11 drills, while the Giants had a quick three-and-out.
After today’s joint practices, #Giants WR Sterling Shepard and #Browns CB Troy Hill squared up and were ready to throw punches.
John Ross appears to have stepped in and gotten Shepard out of there.
This is the final few seconds.

After suffering a concussion, QB Clayton Thorson was dismissed and replaced by QB Brian Lewerke, who should play the most of the second half.

With Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. presumably out, expect WR Donovan Peoples-Jones to continue to shine on the field.
DT Malik McDowell (who might be cut by Tuesday if he doesn’t make an impact) and LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah (who is hoping to rise up the depth chart after leading the club in tackles last week) are two players to keep an eye on on defense.
Cleveland Browns 27-17 Cleveland Browns The Browns are 4.5-point favorites at -200 to win the game.
They have a chance to win by at least ten points.
After leading the Browns in tackles and tackles for loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars (8 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack), rookie LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah could be the game’s MVP.
After a total of 28 carries for 41 yards (1.6 yards per carry), Cleveland’s run game has to improve.
When they sort out the bottom of their WR depth chart in the second half, the New York Giants are expected to throw the ball more.
With Barkley out, RB Corey Clement could get a plenty of carries in the first quarter.

The Cleveland Browns have unveiled vintage outfits to commemorate their 75th anniversary.

This season, Tim Hasselbeck and Booger McFarland give their clubs a chance to erase their Super Bowl droughts.
(1:39) The Cleveland Browns have announced that they would wear vintage uniforms this season to commemorate their 75th season.
The outfit commemorates Cleveland’s first season in the All-American Football Conference in 1946.
White jerseys with brown numbers and an orange shadow-box with white leggings will be worn.
Numbers will be on the sides of the helmets, and gray facemasks will be worn.
In a press statement, Browns executive vice president JW Johnson remarked, “The Browns are one of those iconic franchises in all sports, not just the NFL.”
“We wanted to pay homage to the past and the players who paved the road for the club we have today,” he said. The Browns were a dominant franchise in those uniforms.
Before the AAFC was disbanded and the Browns joined the NFL, they won three of the next six NFL championships (1950-55).
The current Browns were a wild card club last season and are attempting to make the playoffs for the first time since making the playoffs five years in a row from 1985 to 1989.
The Browns have yet to announce which games they will wear this look in.

The Cleveland Indians have changed their name to the Cleveland Guardians.

News – CNN Angela Reyes (CNN) — The Cleveland Indians, formerly known as the Cleveland Indians, will change their name to the Cleveland Guardians (Guardianes de Cleveland) in the upcoming season, according to the Major League Baseball team, which announced the change on Friday morning, following years of criticism from local communities.
“Really, there has always been a Cleveland, and that is the best part of our name,” says actor Tom Hanks in a video announcement for the team, which he shared on Twitter.
“And now is the time to come together as a family, as a community, to build the next era for this team and this city,” he continues.
The measure is part of a larger cultural shift in the United States, where corporate brands are reconsidering their use of racist caricatures and stereotypical names.
“We recognize that changing our names will be difficult for some of us, and the transition will take time,” said Paul Dolan, the team’s owner.
“We have hope and faith that this change will lead us away from a path of separation and into a future in which our fans, the city, and the region are all together as Cleveland Guardians.”
“And you have to go out of your own skin and think about other people who might have a different skin tone and what they’re thinking about.”
And we try to be truly respectful, and I’m quite proud of our organization,” he adds.
The team said last year that it would change its name, aligning itself with the NFL’s Washington Football Club by announcing in 2020 that it would drop the denominacion that evoked Native Americans.
After the 2018 season, Cleveland removed the “Chief Wahoo” logo from their uniforms, which was a caricature of an indigenous character.
The choice of the title Guardians is based on Cleveland’s architectural history.
The Traffic Guardians are large art deco statues that adorn the Hope Memorial Bridge, which connects the city’s east and west sides.
NFL: Washington’s team is no longer known as the Redskins 0:31 “Indians will always be a element of our history, just as Cleveland has always been the most significant part of our identity,” said Dolan.
“In search of a new brand, we sought a name that embodied the pride, perseverance, and loyalty of the Clevelanders,” he added.
The club will keep its colors.
A “welcome and necessary” change Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, the first indigenous cabinet secretary, described the decision as a “welcome and necessary” change.
“It pleases me to see that Cleveland’s baseball team has finally changed its name.”
“The long-standing practice of using indigenous mascots and images in sports teams has been detrimental to indigenous communities,” Haaland wrote on Twitter on Thursday.
Another prominent indigenous community activist praised the club’s choice.
Cleveland’s action demonstrates that sports teams can get rid of “danio” names and mascots, according to Crystal Echo Hawk, founder and executive director of IllumiNative.
“It’s an essential step toward correcting errors committed against indigenous peoples, and it’s a step toward justice,” Echo Hawk said in a statement.
Echo Hawk renamed himself to set an example for other sports teams with names that conjure up images of indigenous people.
The new Guardians, as chosen, will be the fifth name in the franchise’s 120-year history in the Major Leagues, following the Blues, Bronchos, and Naps.
El termino Indians, on the other hand, had the longest mandate: it dated back to 1915.
We’re all in this together.
pic.twitter.com/R5FnT4kv1I — Cleveland Indians (@Indians) July 23, 2021 El equipo encuesta a 40.000 seguidores, realiza 140 horas de entrevistas avec simpatizantes, community leaders, and team members, and considers more than 1.190 names before deciding on Guardians, dijo.
“‘Guardians’ reflects the qualities that characterize us, while also drawing inspiration from the iconic Traffic Guardians just outside the baseball stadium on the Hope Memorial Bridge,” said Dolan in a team press release.
“Da life al orgullo qui sienten los Clevelanders de nuestra city y la forma en que luchamos juntos por todos los que eligen ser parte de la familia del beisbol de Cleveland,” exclaims.
“Although ‘Indians’ will always be a part of our history, our new name will help us to unite our fans and the city, as we are all Cleveland Guardians.”
