After being exposed to Covid-19, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis will miss the last preseason game for the Buffalo Bills.

Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis will miss the last preseason game for the Buffalo Bills after testing positive for Covid-19. Cole Beasley has been outspoken in his opposition to the coronavirus vaccine. Buffalo Bills wide receivers Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis will miss the final preseason game for the team after being deemed close contracts of a training staff member who has tested positive for Covid-19.
After being revealed, veteran defensive tackle Star Lotulelei was also sent home.
According to reports, all three players have tested negative, but they must go through the league’s’re-entry process’ for the next five days because they have not been vaccinated.
Vaccinated players who have been exposed can practice as long as they have negative tests, but the Buffalo trio will miss the week of practice and the team’s last preseason game on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers.
According to ESPN, the trainer, who has not been identified, was completely vaccinated.
Beasley has been outspoken in his opposition to vaccination, even producing an anti-vaccine rap song recently.
On Sunday, September 12th, the Bills will host the Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off their 2021/22 season.
Cam Newton was recently required to go through the NFL’s five-day re-entry process for unvaccinated players. Due to a mix-up with the NFL’s new Covid-19 requirements, Newton will not be able to train with the club until Thursday.
Newton, backed by the Patriots, left the New England area on Saturday for a medical appointment and continued to test negative for Covid-19 on a regular basis.
“Because to a misunderstanding about testing taken outside of NFL facilities, and as mandated by the NFL-NFLPA standards, Cam will be subjected to the five-day entrance cadence procedure before returning to the facility,” the Patriots said in a statement.
“Cam will continue to participate virtually in team activities until Thursday, August 26 when he returns to the club.”

Holder: After his performance against the Jaguars, Jameis Winston will be named the Saints’ starting quarterback.

NEW ORLEANS — On Monday night, the world watched as Drew Brees’ replacement was crowned.
When the Green Bay Packers visit New Orleans in Week 1, Jameis Winston will be the starting quarterback. If not…well, there is no “if not” scenario. There was never a point this offseason when I felt Taysom Hill would beat Winston out for the position.
Throughout training camp and the first two preseason games, I’ve been anticipating Winston’s “win the job” moment.
Several Who Dats were perplexed as to why Winston and Hill’s debate remained a debate at all.
Hill gave a viable force to Winston during the preseason version of “Monday Night Football,” but Winston’s dominating performance should push Hill back into the Swiss Army Knife role, which will still serve as a key asset to the offense.Winston detonated during the Saints 23-21 win against the Jags in the preseason version of “Monday Night Football.”
He had a passer rating of 157.5 after completing nine of ten passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns.
Can I say that was reminiscent of Brees?
It had been
Nevertheless, you must consider that this occurred in the first quarter of a preseason game against the NFL’s weakest club last season.

Travis Etienne, a rookie for the Jaguars, was forced to exit the game against the Saints due to a foot injury.

Travis Etienne, a rookie running back for the Jaguars, only played three snaps in Monday’s preseason game before leaving with a foot injury.
Coach Urban Meyer revealed after the game that Etienne sprained his foot and that the club would find out additional information on Tuesday.
Before departing the game, Etienne had one carry for one yard and caught a 3-yard pass.
Etienne, the No. 25 overall choice in this year’s NFL Draft, had one carry for two yards in the Jaguars’ preseason opener against the Browns.
Etienne was a Clemson teammate of Jacksonville’s rookie quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, and graduated as the ACC’s all-time leading rusher with 4,952 yards over four seasons.
Jacksonville was defeated by New Orleans 23-21 on Monday.

In the wake of AJ McCarron’s season-ending injury, Josh Rosen is expected to join the Atlanta Falcons.

According to ESPN’s Jordan Schultz, the Atlanta Falcons have signed former first-round pick Josh Rosen to replace AJ McCarron and compete for the team’s open backup quarterback position.
McCarron, who joined the Falcons in April, tore his right ACL in the second quarter of Saturday’s preseason game against the Dolphins in Miami, effectively ending his season.
Falcons coach Arthur Smith stated earlier Monday that the team will work out and add a quarterback to compete with Feleipe Franks as Matt Ryan’s backup.
He was candid about the Falcons’ quarterback situation.
“That doesn’t mean that if we add someone this week, we won’t add someone else next week,” Smith added.
“We’ll keep an eye on it,” Smith said, adding that whoever they sign may play in Sunday’s preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns.
Ryan and the rest of Atlanta’s starters have yet to play in the preseason, but Smith said they’ll approach this week as if everyone is getting ready to play, then analyze the true plan at the end of the week.
It would theoretically include Rosen, but if he were to play against the Browns, he would most likely be working with a limited playbook as he needs to master the terminology and then as much as he can.
“I just believe it’s unfair to throw someone out there and say, ‘Here’s the whole game plan,’ and expect them to be able to operate,” Smith said.
“So, depending on who we sign, you know they’ll be ready to go,” said Rosen, who has played for five NFL teams since being picked 10th overall by the Arizona Cardinals in 2018.
In 13 games as a rookie in Phoenix, the former UCLA standout completed 55.2% of his passes for 2,278 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.
During Rosen’s rookie season, the Cardinals fired Steve Wilks and chose Kliff Kingsbury as his replacement.
Using the No
The Cardinals selected Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in 2019 and then traded Rosen to Miami, where he started three games and completed 53.2% of his passes for 567 yards, one touchdown, and five interceptions.
Rosen was released by Miami in September 2020 after the team selected Tua Tagovailoa with the No. 1 overall pick.
He was the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 draft, however he ended up on Tampa Bay’s practice squad.
In December, he was signed off the Buccaneers’ practice squad by San Francisco, but he never played in a game.
Trey Lance was picked No. 1 overall by the San Francisco 49ers.
Rosen was dismissed last week as the No. 3 overall pick in 2021.

In a meaningless preseason game, Urban Meyer puts Trevor Lawrence in jeopardy.

During the Jaguars’ preseason game against the Saints, head coach Urban Meyer took a lot of heat for keeping quarterback Trevor Lawrence in harm’s way.
When the Jaguars used the No. 1 overall pick,
They intended to get a generational quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick on Trevor Lawrence.
The most difficult thing would be getting him through his rookie season without injury.
Unfortunately for Jaguars fans, the preseason has already demonstrated Lawrence’s vulnerability.
At this rate, he might not even make it through the season.
Lawrence was thrown around during Monday’s preseason game against the Saints.

While Trevor Lawrence’s performance was subpar, NFL Twitter was more concerned about his health if head coach Urban Meyer insisted on keeping him in the game.

He shouldn’t expect anything less than 100% from his young quarterback.
Meyer must recognize that he lacks a functional offensive line capable of protecting his most important weapon.

Given the Jaguars’ roster, it’s possible that he’d be better off not being in the firing line every week.
The former Clemson Tiger will play one more preseason game against the Cowboys to acclimate to the NFL level.
It will become much more real when the Jaguars face the Texans to start the season.

Dan Campbell notices Derrick Barnes and Tom Kennedy on the Lions’ risers and fallers list; is Tim Boyle still QB2?

Preseason football’s goals are to adequately evaluate a roster against live competition and to avoid any potentially devastating injuries.
On both counts, the Lions won in Pittsburgh on Saturday night. Head coach Dan Campbell rested many of his regulars, primarily as a precaution, allowing players vying for second- and third-team spots to face the Steelers starters.
It was nasty for a while, with Detroit falling behind 20-0 at halftime, which could have been much worse. But the Lions rallied in the second half, eventually pulling within 6 points.
Several players stood out for their efforts on the way to the 26-20 loss, both in good and terrible ways.
The second round of preseason risers and fallers is as follows:RisersA.J.
Parker, CBIn this year’s draft guide, Dane Brugler graded the Kansas State product as the 52nd-best cornerback prospect.
Parker had too many “negative drills in run support,” according to the scouting report, but “may be enough to survive in the NFL if he can improve his tackling and physicality.” Parker led the Lions with eight tackles (on 30 defensive reps) in their second preseason game.
At this point, it appears he’ll do more than just “survive” in the NFL; he’s started both games as Detroit’s slot corner, and he doesn’t appear willing to relinquish that role. “A.J., great,” said linebacker Derrick Barnes on Saturday night.

The Baltimore Ravens have won 19 consecutive exhibition games, which is a ‘notable’ record.

No one will be able to persuade John Harbaugh that the Baltimore Ravens’ unprecedented run is meaningless since it came within a non-significant period of the NFL calendar.
The Ravens won their 19th straight preseason game with a 20-3 thrashing of the Carolina Panthers, which unofficially ties an NFL record.
From 1959 through 1962, the Packers under Vince Lombardi won 19 consecutive exhibition games, ending just weeks before Ravens coach John Harbaugh was born.
“All those guys who were a part of it over those years should be proud tonight,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “It’s something only one other club has ever done — the Vince Lombardi Green Bay Packers.”
“I’d say that’s remarkable,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. The Ravens went old-school to join Lombardi and the Packers in summer dominance.
On Saturday night, the Ravens, who were tied at halftime with the Panthers, ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns in the second half at Bank of America Stadium.
After halftime, Baltimore limited the Panthers to 18 total yards.
Since September, the Ravens have not lost a preseason game.
Baltimore’s preseason winning streak began against the Panthers in 2016.
“There are going to be folks who say this doesn’t matter,” Harbaugh said.
“There will be people who look at that and go, ‘Wow, that’s something.’ I believe that everything has purpose in life.” The Ravens’ preseason streak is the longest in at least 26 years, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Elias’ preseason records don’t go back any further than 1995.
But, according to long-time NFL reporter Rick Gosselin, the Packers won 19 straight exhibition games 59 years ago.
The Ravens were unable to replicate that record since their star players are frequently used in the preseason.
Despite missing seven starters, including Pro Bowl quarterback Lamar Jackson, tight end Mark Andrews, offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, and cornerback Marlon Humphrey, Baltimore defeated Carolina on Saturday.
Tyler Huntley, who began at quarterback in place of Jackson, stated, “It’s a fantastic feeling to have because you can see the type of culture we have as a team and company.”
“Every time we foot on the pitch, we want to win.”
It really goes to show how much depth we have as a team to keep winning in the preseason.” Some players were aware of the run going into the game.
In the locker room after the win, Harbaugh briefed his players about the historic preseason triumph.
Ravens safety Chuck Clark recalled, “We embraced and loved that moment.”
“But for now, we’re kind of in the record books,” he says, “but we just have to keep becoming more and better as a team.”

Bengals rookie DE Joseph Ossai will have knee surgery that will conclude his season.

Cincinnati will be without Ossai, a third-round pick who was a breakout star throughout training camp and in the team’s first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Tom Brady was sacked by Ossai in his preseason debut.
With the Bengals, he was a steady presence, and they had great expectations for him in 2021.
In 29 games, the 21-year-old had 11.5 sacks, two interceptions, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, three pass breakups, 165 tackles, and 30 tackles for a loss.
Spence has played in the NFL for four seasons, three of which he spent with the Buccaneers before joining the Washington Football Team for the 2019 season.
In 2020, he signed with the New Orleans Saints, but due to a ruptured ACL, he missed the full season.
The 27-year-old re-signed with the Saints this summer, but was released after his first preseason appearance.
Spence has 7.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two pass breakups, 37 tackles, three tackles for a loss, and sixteen quarterback hits in 41 career games.
