Falcons quarterback AJ McCarron is mocked on Twitter, while Feleipe Franks is lauded for his Atlanta debut.

AJ McCarron has played in the NFL for seven seasons, but he didn’t appear to be a seasoned veteran during his Falcons debut on Friday night.
To give Matt Ryan to rest, the Falcons began McCarron in their preseason opener against the Titans.
McCarron was used in the first half of Atlanta’s 23-3 loss, but he was unable to lead a scoring drive.
The Falcons only gained 6 yards in the first half after McCarron’s first three possessions all resulted in negative yardage.

Take, for example, this interception that appeared to be thrown directly to Titans linebacker David Long Jr.
McCarron had only completed 5 of 12 passes for 36 yards and two interceptions at the conclusion of the night.
Falcons fans were dissatisfied with their quarterback’s performance and resorted to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
Some even joked about Ryan’s backup, 40-year-old Matt Schaub.

I’ll say it again: enough of AJ McCarron for tonight — NOMAD (@NomadXJoker) August 14, 2021 McCarron’s performance was only made worse by third-string quarterback Feleipe Franks producing a few of good highlights. — CFBLIVE247 (@CFBLive247_) August 14, 2021
The Arkansas undrafted rookie had a great stiff-arm on a scramble and a 51-yard rush later in his game.
Feleipe Franks, a rookie quarterback, is flailing his arms in the air.
Naturally, those two plays were enough for some Falcons fans to determine that Franks would be a better backup quarterback than McCarron. #TENvsATL — NFL (@NFL) August 14, 2021
