NFL Trade Rumors: 5 Trades to Consider After Week One of the NFL Preseason

In 2021, every NFL team has played at least one preseason game, giving fans their first look at their rosters in a live game.
Some teams have had significant players go down with injuries (Neville Gallimore and Anthony Miller), while others already know who will not be on the final roster (Tim Tebow, N’Keal Harry, and Zach Gentry).
After looking at the first week of the NFL preseason, there are already a few deals that could happen, and we’ll look at five of them in this piece.
#1 – Mason Rudolph of the Pittsburgh Steelers to the Tennessee Titans This is a BEAUTIFUL by Mason Rudolph and Diontae Johnson pic.twitter.com/xJPb8QJS05 — Pro Football Network (@PFN365) August 13, 2021 Former AAF starter Logan Woodside did well in the Tennessee Titans’ first NFL preseason game, but it’s still too early to call him the greatest QB2.
Ryan Tannehill is 33 years old, and it’s unknown how long he’ll continue to play or start in the NFL.
Through two games, Mason Rudolph has looked good as a backup, but Dwayne Haskins has the upper hand.
Rudolph could be the second-best quarterback on the Titans’ roster, and he has the potential to be a future interim starter until the front office finds their next franchise quarterback.
#2 – N’Keal Harry of the New England Patriots has been traded to the Chicago Bears.
This year, Nkeal Harry is having a hec of a Training Camp!
#patriots #gopats #nkealharry pic.twitter.com/D8AYe3ngEr — New England Patriots (@Pat_Status) August 8, 2021 N’Keal Harry has had a fantastic training camp since announcing his desire to leave the Patriots.
Nevertheless, it did not carry over to his performance in his first NFL preseason game in 2021, where he only had one catch in 36 snaps.
The New England Patriots appear to have little faith in him in a live game, regardless of how well he’s performed in camp.
Together with Darnell Mooney and Allen Robinson, the Chicago Bears have the genuine deal in QB Justin Fields, and can combine N’Keal Harry with another quick WR.
N’Keal Harry’s chances of turning his fortunes around by the end of the NFL preseason are slim.
#3 – Chicago Bears DT Akiem Hicks to Dallas Cowboys Chicago Bears v Green Bay Packers Akiem Hicks wants to retire with the Chicago Bears, but the team may not be prepared to provide him a new contract deal at $9 million or more per year.
After losing 2nd-year defensive tackle Neville Gallimore for up to 8 weeks in their first NFL preseason game, the Dallas Cowboys could use a veteran to step in.
Hicks might be a good starter for a portion of the season, play for a legitimate contender, and even sign a new contract to stick on as a backup or rotational player.
#4 – New England Patriots LB Jahlani Tavai to Detroit Lions #FFIDP Jahlani Tavai takes on guard’s block and almost bounces off him…makes tackle.
Expect the New England Patriots to pursue Jahlani Tavai, whether through trade or waivers. pic.twitter.com/2Kxb8TXz2U — Mike Woellert (@Mike_Woellert) August 18, 2019
When Matt Patricia was the head coach, he chose him in the second round of the 2019 draft, and now he’s back as the defensive coordinator for the Patriots.
During his tenure in Detroit, he was unable to unlock Tavai’s potential, but he could continue his work by bringing his prospect to him.
With Terez Hall and Cameron McGrone both missing the duration of the NFL preseason, the Patriots are in need of a LB.
#5 – Pittsburgh Steelers TE Zach Gentry to Jacksonville Jaguars Zach Gentry talks with @missi_matthews on the role tight ends will play in Coach Canada’s offense, his offseason regimen, and [email protected] | Full : https://t.co/mtNfqIJGWc pic.twitter.com/Uw2hK1lLwb — Pittsburgh Steelers (@steelers) August 12, 2021
He also failed to make a single catch throughout the contest.
Zach Gentry is set to be released by Pittsburgh at some point, and he might provide the Jaguars with a capable tight end.

Inside Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s training camp drill routine, which lasted two hours and included 90 throws.

Do you ever wonder what an NFL quarterback’s typical practice looks like?
One thing is certain: It’s a lot different for a 39-year-old, 18-year veteran two years removed from major elbow surgery and months removed from admitting to being worn down during a failed stretch run than it is for a quarterback attempting to establish himself in the league. The Steelers held their 16th training camp exercise Saturday at Heinz Field, and they’re still four weeks away from starting the season.
That isn’t going to happen unless

Lamar Jackson is out of practice with the Ravens due to a COVID issue.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was held out of practice.
Due to a COVID-related issue, Lamar Jackson will not practice with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday.
On Thanksgiving, the Ravens’ franchise quarterback tested positive for the coronavirus, which hampered Baltimore’s game against the Jets.
On a later day, on a Wednesday afternoon, the archrival Pittsburgh Steelers will be played.
Jackson will undoubtedly be held out of Ravens practice as the NFL and Baltimore assess the situation.
Tyler Huntley and Trace McSorley will get extra reps as a result of this.
We don’t know how long the former NFL MVP quarterback will be out at this time.
According to @jamisonhensley and me, Lamar Jackson is not practicing today due to a COVID-related situation that the league is still working through.
Jackson, who tested positive on Thanksgiving, had a second test that was flagged by NFL officials.
The NFL is now conducting research, and the Ravens are waiting for results.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 28, 2021 Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson is out for the season due to a COVID-19 issue. This is a pivotal season for the Ravens and their franchise quarterback.
Together with the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens should be contenders for the division title.
While the Pittsburgh Steelers are likely to be a wild card club this season, they should be competitive.
With this being Joe Burrows’ second season, we can also expect a significant improvement from the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jackson is in his fourth year as a Louisville Cardinal.
He’ll make money on a second contract, but it’s unclear if he’ll be paid before Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills or how much more than his Heisman Trophy fraternity brother Baker Mayfield.
In any case, Jackson is not practicing with the Ravens at the moment, and the team must react appropriately.
Expect more renowned players to be sidelined by the illness now that training camp has begun.
